GINA LE FAUX
Gina Le Faux - Fiddle, Guitar & Mandolin Virtuoso, Singer & Teacher
Gina is one of the great fiddle players on the British folk/roots music scene; an international performer who has toured extensively in Britain, Europe and the USA; an exceptional singer and interpreter of songs old and new; a recent performance was described as ”White Soul” and her guitar playing was described as “Spellbinding”.
Gina’s interest in 18th century dance music led Shirley Collins to describe her as a “Baroque Fiddler” and she was a guest soloist with, Ensemble Suave, a Baroque music ensemble, at concerts in Boston, USA in 2004 and 2008.
Apart from her singing and renowned musicianship, Gina Le Faux is a great communicator and entertainer and has a wicked sense of humour. Gina is one of the UK’s leading teachers of traditional fiddle and has recently released a fiddle tutor DVD for Folk Academy. She has also run workshops for all of the major teaching organisations in England including Folkworks, Folk South West, Hands On Music and The Yorkshire Dales Workshops.
She has worked with most of the folk scene’s legendary performers including John Kirkpatrick, Martin Carthy, Martin Simpson and Dick Gaughan and was a member of Hom Bru, Shegui, Red Shift and The Tannahill Weavers and is currently working in a duo with Dave Swarbrick.
Gina will be touring with Dave Swarbrick again in January and the 'InAnyEvent' team is proud to announce that we will be a part of that tour and will be bringing Gina and Dave to you at the Royal British Legion on the 30th January 2010. Details to follow!
Cave
Cave have been playing together for almost three years. They have toured extensively, playing major festivals and venues across England including main stage slots at Sidmouth Folk Festival, Cromer Folk on the Pier, and Saul Folk on the Water. They have also enjoyed two successful short tours to Germany. Cave's first full-length album is now available, which they will be promoting throughout 2009. Cave's live set consists of original songs, as well as a splash of traditional tunes played in the band's unique style. They will play small venues as Gregg Cave and the Village Hall Band!

Liz Rosenfield is branching out!
Liz has spent many years ‘hangin’ around’ with bands, roadie, runner, dogsbody, booking gigs for friends’ bands and organising events, all voluntarily!
The last few years Liz has been busy on the committee for The Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival as Chairman and for the last 5 years as Festival Director, booking the bands and fitting all the mainstage and fringe bands into the full festival weekend.
Having spent so much time with musicians and festival organisers, she has not only discovered she can sing, but that she has a skill for putting the right people in the right place at the right time musically and has decided that it is time to do it professionally.
Several musicians and bands have asked Liz to be an agent for them over the years but due to full time work, family commitments and being a volunteer Festival Director for Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival she has turned down several opportunities. Due to sudden redundancy from teaching and with that famous saying ‘one door closes…….’ She feels the time is right to make it happen.
Liz still has to juggle her time with teaching, Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival and organising the new Bull Bay Festival in Anglesey, and singing with her 'new' band as the 'Wildgirl' in Dr Bob and the Wildboys, and other music interests. She still runs the now well known Kings Lock Folk Club in Middlewich FIRST SUNDAY in the month. Do come and say hello. |
